Introduction: where we come from
To begin, let me introduce our magnificent farm above, located in the village of Founga, in the heart of the Comoros. With around 500 inhabitants, Founga is one of the highest villages in the Comoro Islands, where fertile soil and an ideal climate create a natural setting for growing our future treasures.

This field, which belongs to my grandmother and grandfather, both passionate farmers, was later handed down to my mother and father.
In this field we have taken care to grow a variety of produce: exotic fruits such as sweet jackfruit and juicy mangoes, as well as fresh vegetables such as tomatoes and aubergines. These varied harvests are not only for local sale; they are also an essential pillar in feeding part of our family in the Comoros, providing fresh, healthy food.
The reality of food challenges, and the introduction of vanilla
Farming life in Founga is not without its challenges, however. Despite our efforts at diversified production, the harvests were not always enough to feed every member of the family. In addition, a large part of our land, around 70%, remained unused, almost wasted. Faced with this reality, my father had a revolutionary idea: five years ago he decided to plant vanilla, hoping it might help resolve the persistent poverty that weighed on our family.
This decision was not only an initiative to diversify our production, but also a courageous attempt to turn an underused plot of land into a more stable source of income. Vanilla offers promising potential, not only to supplement our livelihood but also to help reduce the impact of the poverty that has affected our family for too long.
Unfortunately, my father did not have time to harvest the fruit of his hard work, and years passed before I was able to take over, in honour of his work and hoping to make my own contribution.
My passion for authentic flavours
My passion for the spices from our field has always been powerful. Every time my grandmother sent us a parcel of spices I was overjoyed. Their unique aromas and incomparable freshness have always enriched our dishes far more than the local spices bought in supermarkets. Over the years, this ability to bring out flavours awakened in me a deep desire: to introduce the world to the taste treasures of my country, starting with this precious spice, vanilla from the Comoros.
This challenge, though exciting, is not without difficulties. Our vision is to keep our products authentic, and to preserve their purity and exceptional quality. This means staying true to our principles: no use of fertilisers or artificial products. We aspire to create exceptional crops, based on traditional methods and meticulous attention at every stage of our spices' growth.
In addition to our commitment to sustainable farming, we are also aware of the importance of crop diversification. By growing a variety of produce, we strengthen the resilience of our field in the face of climate change and the whims of nature.
A positive impact on the community
Our farm in Founga is not limited to producing food. It also has a positive impact on the local community. We provide jobs for the villagers, which helps reduce unemployment and improve living conditions.
We are proud to support the local economy by selling our products in local markets. This gives the people of Founga access to fresh, quality food, while boosting the economic development of the region.
Moreover, we believe in social responsibility and are committed to giving back to the community. We organise charity events and support local initiatives to improve education and health for the people of Founga.
A treasure in the heart of the Comoros
Our farm in Founga is therefore much more than a piece of land. It is a treasure in the heart of the Comoros, a source of pride for our family and a valuable contribution to our community.
We continue to work with passion and determination to preserve this heritage and to promote sustainable, environmentally respectful farming. We invite everyone who wishes to come and visit our field and discover the beauty of nature and the richness of our culture.
Together, we can make a difference and create a better future for generations to come.
